Brief description for students:

Does every student also have to be an artist to attractively present their results in their thesis (master's,

bachelor's, credit) and scientific publications? Does each preparation of a paper with figures require the

inclusion of a graphically talented co-author in the team? This elective course on the basics of graphic

editing and presentation of scientific results will teach you how, with the help of basic computer skills,

free graphics software and a little creativity, you can clearly and aesthetically present your research

results in a publication, poster or presentation.

Description of the realized topic:

  1. processing and visualization of scientific research data using publicly available browser tools and the MS Office package,
  2. processing of photographic materials using the GIMP 2.10 freeware,
  3. compilation of figures for scientific publications using the GIMP 2.10 freeware and MS PowerPoint,
  4. design and visual presentation of research and method diagrams using the free version of the BioRender software and MS PowerPoint,
  5. preparation of captions for figures containing graphic and photographic results for publication in journals of international standard
